Looking for something quick and easy to add to dinner? Well look no further! No this is not from a box, and does not require that you add milk/water and microwave for 2 minutes. There is a little bit more effort required, but I promise it is worth the extra 18 minutes.
Ingredients:
Asparagus
Bacon
Salt (optional)
Why add salt to all that bacon!?? In our household we (I) try to buy products with as little added sodium as possible. So my bacon is usually Turkey bacon or reduced salt bacon, which I find depending on how it is cooked, might need a dash of salt. In this case, I used course sea salt which I find to be much milder than table salt.
Bake in a pre-heated oven 400 degrees Fahrenheit, for 20-25 minutes, or until bacon is cooked. I usually blanch and freeze my asparagus to keep during the winter, so I do bake them without thawing. However, if you are cooking fresh asparagus, one tip to ensure that the asparagus is not overcooked, is to partially cook the bacon prior to adding to the asparagus.
